On A Clear Day Home
What stands out most about this striking home is its plethora of windows. Clearly (yes, the pun is intended) a view house, with lower and upper glazing wrapping from corner to corner around the entire rear of the house, there are also quite a number of smaller windows used throughout the house.
The result is a bold and truly unique design statement. All this glass, combined with simple, high quality materials and finishes and unique rooflines, created an elegant, one of a kind home.
Small square windows wrap all the way around the front door, which opens to a two–story foyer. As you enter the house, your immediate view is to and through the great room. After passing below a bridge connecting the upper level rooms, the ceiling in the great room rises from 18'6" at the walls to a soaring 24' at the ridgeline. This room features a centrally located fireplace, and a far wall comprised almost entirely of floor to ceiling glass.
A wall with a large opening separates the great room from the kitchen and breakfast nook. The kitchen area is quite spacious, and includes a large center island, a walk in pantry, and plenty of counter and cabinet space. A peninsula countertop separates it from a lovely glass surrounded dining nook. A glazed door in the nook opens to the rear patio. A door next to the pantry opens to an optional elevator, a laundry/utility/mud room, and a 3–car garage. A pull down ladder in the garage provides access to a large attic space above it.
The kitchen is also open to the formal dining room. The ceiling in this room like all the other non–vaulted ceilings on this level is set at a lofty 10', and a trio of windows in the corner provide natural light and views to the front.
On A Clear Day Design
The master suite occupies the remainder of the main level. The master bedroom ceiling vaults at the far end of the room, where three large rear facing picture windows are topped by three transom windows. Three high windows over the bed face the side yard, while a glazed door opens to the rear patio. A short hallway passes a large walk in closet before opening to the bath area. The bath features two separate vanities, a large soaking tub below a trio of windows, an extra large shower, a private toilet room, and a pair of skylights for additional natural light.
